Prof. Boateng Onwona‐Agyeman

Prof. Boateng Onwona-Agyeman is a Professor and currently the Provost of College of Basic and Applied Sciences (CBAS), he received his BSc degree in Physics from the University of Science & Technology in Kumasi in 1994. He was awarded a Japanese Government Scholarship to pursue his MSc and Ph.D. in Physics and Materials Science & Engineering, respectively, from Saga University.

He then worked as a research engineer at ENG Company in Japan for a year before joining academia as a post-doctoral fellow at the Faculty of Engineering, Shizuoka National University.

In 2005, he joined SPD Laboratory Inc. to produce key components in dye-sensitized solar cells. He then worked on projects such as the production of the first paper-based catalytic converters and reforming natural gas into hydrogen.

Currently, he is an Associate Professor and the Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Ghana, with research interests including transparent conducting thin film preparation, photovoltaic performance monitoring, and the development of porous structured materials.
